A woman jumped off a Bronx subway platform, struck the third rail and was electrocuted Tuesday morning, officials said.
The victim leapt onto the elevated tracks on the No. 2 and 5 line at the Simpson St. station just after 8 a.m. She died at the scene after landing on the third rail, officials said.
Cops were working to identify her.
NYC Transit suspended service on the No. 2 and 5 lines while authorities investigated and removed her body.
“We know some of you are on the train outside of stations and we are working to restore service as soon as possible,” the agency tweeted.
