A Brooklyn woman faces hate crime charges after slapping another woman in the face because she was speaking in Mandarin outside a Manhattan ice cream shop earlier this month.
Cheyenne Taylor, 29, stomped toward the 25-year-old victim as she was chatting with a friend at a sidewalk table outside an ice cream shop on Grand St. near Forsythe St. near Chinatown on April 7, police said.
“I don’t want you talking! Shut the f— up!” the woman screamed. “Go back to where you came from! Go back to your country!”
Taylor started to walk away, but turned around and slapped the victim in the face, surveillance video shows. The victim declined medical attention, cops said
The attack came amid a spike of anti-Asian assaults throughout the city.
Taylor is charged with aggravated assault as a hate crime.
