A 69-year-old woman last seen with a sex offender before being found dead in Staten Island was the victim of a homicide, police said Thursday.
Johynita Jordan, last seen alive Jan. 18, was found dead two days later in a vacant home on Van Duzer St. in Stapleton.
Police later learned she was shortly before her death with Linden Beaton, 32, who three weeks early beat a woman so badly she suffered bleeding on the brain.
But Beaton walked free after that earlier assault because an NYPD civilian employee marked the case closed — even before the victim, Beatrice Kaliku, could be interviewed. That worker and a police supervisor were disciplined for the error.
The NYPD Thursday said the Medical Examiner has deemed Jordan’s death a homicide.
