Now that’s a turbulent Thanksgiving.
Two Utah teenagers were arrested Thursday after they stole a small plane and flew it, the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office said.
The boys – who names have not been released – are 14 and 15 years old. They allegedly stole the aircraft from a private airstrip, before ultimately landing it at the Vernal Regional Airport.
“This morning the teens gained access to a tractor and drove it to the air strip in Jensen, where they stole a fixed-wing, single engine light sport aircraft,” reads a release from the Sheriff’s Office.
“The plane was witnessed flying very low along US-40 near Gusher, Uintah County, about 32 miles west of Jensen.”
They were busted by authorities shortly after landing and taken into custody at the Split Mountain Youth Detention Center “on multiple charges,” the Sheriff’s Office said in the release,
