An Uber driver had to be rescued from his crushed car after it flipped onto its side when he smashed into three parked vehicles in the East Village Sunday.
The victim was driving downtown on Avenue D when he slammed into two unoccupied parked cars about 10 a.m., according to officials. He then crashed into a vehicle that was double-parked with someone inside. The Uber driver's black Toyota sedan overturned from the force of the impact, trapping him inside.
The Uber driver became trapped in his mangled sedan and firefighters used specialized tools to extricate him.
Medics took both the Uber driver and the victim in the vehicle he struck on stretchers to Mount Sinai Beth Israel for neck and back injuries, cops said.
