PDA — Presidential Displays of Affection — is trending.
The adorable, touchy-feely bromance between President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron is turning into an episode of “Friends.”
“We will always be there for you,” the U.S. Commander in Chief said Tuesday during Macron’s visit to the White House.
Trump was declaring devotion to France, but the wording felt more personal. It evoked the “Friends” theme song’s line: “I’ll be there for you (Cause you’re there for me too).”
Indeed, the pair — 40-year-old Macron, who’s keen on fortifying France’s prestige, and Trump, 71 — has given the impression that there’s nothing they’d rather do than hang with each other.
Macron greeted Trump Monday with a kiss on the cheek. Then Tuesday, the pair smiled for cameras before Trump gripped his BFF’s hand and they strolled off together like preschoolers partaking in the buddy system.
Trump has called his relationship with Macron “very special.”
So special that he even playfully flicked what he said was a “little piece” of dandruff from Macron’s suit lapel to “make him perfect.”
The internet has, of course, noticed.
“They're so damn cute together,” noted one Twitter user, while another mentioned the difference in the men’s heights. “It reminds me of The Skipper and Gilligan. “You alright, Lil Buddy?”
