A week after “Chrisley Knows Best” star Todd Chrisley shared a photo of his son, Kyle Chrisley, in the hospital, it’s been revealed that he attempted to take his own life.

“T TODAY SATAN, T TODAY... Kyle is great and we are back to the grind,” Todd Chrisley wrote last week.

He and Kyle, 27, disclosed the news on their podcast “Chrisley Confessions” in an effort to “stamp out rumors.”

“I take medication and I had a bad side effect to it, and I tried to take my own life,” Kyle Chrisley said.

He didn’t go into specifics about the medication, but added that “suicidal tendencies” was one possible side effect listed. Todd Chrisley also mentioned that his son was diagnosed as bipolar years ago.

Kyle Chrisley said “family support” and new medication have him on the right track, but admitted that addiction has landed him in rehab more than 40 times.

“I will not bury my child,” Todd Chrisley said of trying to make rehab work for Kyle.

The health scare comes at a time when Todd Chrisley and his wife Julie are facing tax evasion charges.

The couple was charged with multiple counts of conspiracy, bank fraud, wire fraud and tax evasion by a federal grand jury in Atlanta on Aug. 13.

“Todd and Julie Chrisley are charged not only with defrauding a number of banks by fraudulently obtaining millions of dollars in loans, but also with allegedly cheating taxpayers by actively evading paying federal taxes on the money they earned,” U.S. Attorney Byung J. “BJay” Pak said of the charges. “Celebrities face the same justice that everyone does. These are serious federal charges and they will have their day in court.”

Todd and Julie have vehemently denied the charges, suggesting instead that a former employee falsified documents in a scheme to harm and defame the family.
