Thieves snatch boxer shorts and air freshener, brawl with clerks at Bronx Family Dollar

A wild video released by the police shows two alleged shoplifters brawling with store clerks after threatening them with a syringe in the Bronx.

The video, released by the NYPD, shows the melee that started Wednesday about 8:50 p.m. when two thieves tried to leave a Family Dollar on Clinton Ave. in Belmont carrying plastic bags full of allegedly stolen items.

The clerks, dressed in red shirts, tried to stop them. One of the thieves pulled a syringe and threatened to stab them with it. A fight erupt with one of the clerks body-slamming one of the suspects.

The second suspects pulled a knife. The clerks kept trying to stop them from leaving, but the scoundrels got away north on Clinton with 23 packages and 15 bottles of air freshener.

One suspect is described as Hispanic, in his forties, 5-foot-8, his hair in a ponytail. He was last seen wearing a black and gray sweater, blue jeans and black and white sneakers.

The second is a Hispanic, in his forties, 5-foot-8. He was last seen wearing a gray sweater, blue jeans, black sneakers and he carried a black backpack.
