The terminally ill man who got a call from President Trump as his last wish has died after a battle with cystic fibrosis.
Jay Barrett, 44, died Wednesday, just days after going into hospice care, his sister confirmed to WTNH.
The West Haven, Connecticut, man got a call from the White House last week after supporting Trump “through thick and thin.”
“We love you, Jay,” the President told him. “You’re my kind of man… You keep that fight going. We both fight.”
Barrett told Trump that he hoped to visit Washington, D.C. before his “expiration date” and said he wanted to be alive to vote for him again in 2020.
“My sister just replayed the phone call from President Trump and it (just) hit me that I had a conversation with the President and he said I looked good and I said, who are you kidding I look like s–t!” Barrett wrote on Facebook.
