Tennessee woman was walking along street naked explained: ‘because it’s hot,’ police say

A daring Tennessee woman was stopped by cops while walking naked on a humid summer night last month — but she had a simple explanation, police said.

“Because it’s hot,” 35-year-old Princess Denise Day said, justifying her clothes-free approach, according to a Nashville police arrest complaint.

Day was walking along a store-lined stretch near the city’s West Nashville neighborhood at 11:52 p.m. on Aug. 12 when police stopped her, according to arrest records. She did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol, and she immediately tossed on a large T-shirt she was carrying when she was stopped, cops said.

She had been walking toward downtown, her breast, buttocks and genitals bare, police said.

She said she had been on her way to a friend’s house but was going to turn around and head home because of the heat, cops said.

Temperatures in the Nashville area hovered around 80 degrees at the time of the arrest, according to data from Weather Underground.

Day was charged with indecent exposure.
