Cops on Saturday shared a photo of a man wanted in connection with the murder of a Brooklyn rapper shot during a gambling dispute in his apartment lobby.
Police released a mugshot of James Oliver, 39, in hopes the public can help track down the man suspected of the Dec. 2017 slaying of Darnell Pettway.
The 30-year-old Brownsville emcee, who performed under the stage name “Mook Mula,” was shot multiple times in the chest after a gambling game gone wrong in the lobby of his apartment on E. 93rd St. near Rutland Road around 10 p.m. Dec. 2, police said.
Investigators identified Oliver as a suspect while reviewing surveillance footage taken across the street from the crime scene, sources said.
Oliver’s seven prior arrests include a 2001 murder charge, multiple robberies and aggravated assault, cops said.
He is described as black, about 5-foot-11, and 170 pounds with brown eyes.
Anyone with information is asked to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800)-577-TIPS.
