An arrest has been made in the death of 14-year-old Sonja Star Harrison, who was hit by a stray bullet from an upstairs apartment Monday night.
Souleymane Diallo, 20, was busted Thursday by Atlanta police and charged with second-degree murder.
He was also charged with reckless conduct and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to WSB-TV.
Harrison, an eight-grader who was eight months pregnant, was sitting on her bed when a bullet came flying in and struck her in the head.
“The preliminary investigation has revealed that the gunshot came from the apartment directly above the apartment where the victim was located,” Officer Lisa Bender said in a statement.
According to Sonja’s mother, Sonja Denise Harrison, the shooter was not the father of the baby.
Diallo was taken to Fulton Country Jail and will be booked on the shooting death charges of Harrison and her unborn child.
The motive behind the shooting is unknown.
