Put a standalone Boba Fett movie in the Disney cargo hold.
In a world in which there are never enough “Star Wars” movies, the next flick is expected to focus on the iconic bounty hunter, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Boba Fett first appeared in “The Empire Strikes Back” in 1980 and returned in “Return of the Jedi” in 1983.
Almost all details on the project are still secret, but a Boba Fett standalone has been rumored for years, including a rumored collaboration with “Fantastic Four” director Josh Trank that died in 2013.
James Mangold, who has also worked on “Logan,” “Walk the Line” and “Knight and Day,” will write and direct the movie, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
An Obi-Wan Kenobi standalone is also reportedly in the works.
The new endeavor comes just days before the release of the newest “Star Wars” project, “Solo.” The 2016 “Rogue One” was the first spinoff from the legendary franchise.
