'Show me the money': Golden Tate reenacts scene from 'Jerry Maguire' after Giants signing

Rod Tidwell or Golden Tate?

Hours after news spread former Eagles wide receiver Golden Tate signed a four-year, $37.5 million contract with the Giants, the 30-year-old posted a video of himself re-enacting the famed ‘Jerry Maguire’ “show me the money” scene on his Instagram.

“Feeling like Rod Tidwell today,” Tate said in the caption. “Can’t wait to get back to work in the Big (Apple) with the squad.”

Tate surely had no reason not to shout “show me the money” in the video, as the Big Blue newcomer is also reported to get $23 million guaranteed in his contract.

His post showed no shortage of excitement about being able to dawn the Giants uniform once the season starts in September. He’s even changed the default photo on his Instagram and Twitter accounts to the “I (Heart) New York” logo.

Tate is expected to replace WR Odell Beckham Jr. who was traded to the Browns on Tuesday evening in exchange for a first-round pick, a third-round pick, and safety Jabrill Peppers.

Though the veteran has quite the rapport — with ten years, 611 receptions, 7,214 yards, and 38 touchdowns under his belt — Giants fans are still confused by the team’s path forward after the Tate deal.
