Some Bradley Cooper fans go goo-goo for Gaga ? which apparently wasn’t great news for the actor’s actual relationship.
The speculation about Cooper and his “A Star Is Born” co-star Lady Gaga, peddled by hopeful fans, might have caused a strain between Cooper and model Irina Shayk, People reported.
Cooper and Shayk recently broke up after four years together.
“The rumors about Bradley and Gaga having a love affair didn’t help especially with his constant travels (promoting the film),” a source told People.
Gaga plays Cooper’s love interest in the musical drama, and many hand-wringing fans hoped their on-screen bond would become reality.
“He has a huge and overwhelming connection to Gaga but whether it becomes a real love story in their lives for all the world to see is premature, and it’s difficult to speculate at this sensitive time,” People continued.
Cooper, 44, and Shayk, 33, have a 2-year-old daughter named Lea. News of their breakup emerged last week.
Shayk attended the Oscars in February with Cooper, who was nominated for Best Actor for “A Star is Born,” which he also directed.
Cooper and Gaga gave a sizzling performance of a song from the movie, “Shallow,” at the award show — raising eyebrows among the audience — and Gaga later addressed the buzz around that gig during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show.
“Yes, people saw love — and guess what? That’s what we wanted you to see ... when you’re singing love songs, that’s what you want people to feel,” she said. “I’m an artist and I guess we did a good job and fooled you."
And the plot thickens. Gaga’s ex, Christian Carino, liked a photo that Shayk shared to Instagram on Monday showing her in a swimsuit.
