Report: Eagles could be missing their 5 top corners Sunday vs. Giants

November 23, 2018

Eli Manning could have another fowl feast coming his way this Sunday.

According to ESPN Eagles reporter Tim McManus, the Birds could be without their top five cornerbacks when the host Manning and the Giants this Sunday.

With Rasul Douglas, Avonte Maddox, Jalen Mills, Sidney Jones and Ronald Darby all banged up, the Eagles could be without some or all of their corners, which could open things up for Manning, Odell Beckham and Sterling Sheppard.

Philly coach Doug Pederson resorted to using wide receivers to play corner during practice Friday, according to McManus, though McManus noted in a followup tweet that the use of receivers does not mean he’ll be doing the same Sunday.

The Giants enter this bi-annual grudge match on a two-game winning streak after knocking off the Niners and Bucs, showing some signs of life after a dreadful 1-7 start to the season.

The Eagles have had rough go of it after winning their first-ever Super Bowl in February, losing their last two games — including a 48-7 blowout loss to the Saints this past Sunday — and falling two games under .500 at 4-6.
