Rapper Rich the Kid was assaulted outside a Los Angeles recording studio in a stunning daytime attack, where Usher was reportedly also recording.
A spokesman for the West Hollywood Station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to the Daily News that an assault occurred outside a West Hollywood record studio on Tuesday.
As many as 10 shots were fired at Westlake Recording Studio, said witnesses. One witness stated the male shooter started blasting away once outside the studio, reported TMZ.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies swarmed the scene and cordoned off streets while collecting evidence and talking to witnesses.
One bodyguard was reportedly pistol-whipped.
Cops were unsure of the number of assailants but money and jewelry were allegedly stolen.
Rich the Kid, a Queens-born musician, released his debut album “The World Is Yours” last March.
Just hours before the attack, Rich the Kid, 26, posted a photo of himself on his Instagram account holding stacks of cash while posing in front of a blue Lamborghini. The photo’s caption read: “For motivational purposes only.”
