Rachel McAdams kept her entire pregnancy under wraps — and she’ll continue to maintain that privacy for her infant son moving forward.
The actress broke her silence about becoming a mother for the very first time, though she has not shared the child’s name or birth date with her fans.
“I want to keep his life private, even if mine isn’t,” McAdams told British newspaper The Sunday Times.
McAdams, 40, famously kept a low-profile throughout her pregnancy and never even publicly confirmed she was expecting.
She reportedly welcomed the child with her boyfriend, screenwriter Jamie Linden, in April.
“It’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me, hands down,” she told the outlet. “(People say) your life is not your own any more. But I had 39 years of me, I was sick of me, I was so happy to put the focus on some other person. I waited a long time (for motherhood).”
She continued, “It’s just how it happened. And I didn’t want to do it before it was the right time.”
The “Mean Girls” star added that she won’t rule out adding to her family moving forward.
“I think there is definitely room for more,” she said.
The actress says she’s having “more fun” as a mother than she ever had before.
