President Trump claimed he was clueless about the events that led fallen movie mogul Harvey Weinstein to be booked in Manhattan Friday on rape and sexual assault charges.
“(I’m) not familiar with the case,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “But it’s too bad.”
Trump’s statement that he wasn’t up on the details of Weinstein’s case is counter to comments months ago that he’d heard about the sexual misconduct complaints against the disgraced Hollywood heavyweight.
Asked about the Weinstein matter in October, Trump said: “I’ve known Harvey Weinstein for a long time. I’m not at all surprised to see it.”
Now, seven months later, that lack of surprise has transformed into lack of familiarity.
The President is no stranger to accusations of sexual abuse, harassment and assault.
Currently, he is dealing with allegations by adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Trump also faced allegations from at least 15 women during his presidential campaign.
Trump has denied all of claims.
