A Pakistan government meeting streamed on Facebook Live with a cat filter turned on.

Social media has made it simpler for the public to keep up to date on what their local government is doing thanks to innovations like live-streaming.

A provincial government in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa found out how easy it can be for a livestream to go awry after broadcasting a meeting between ministers with the Facebook Live cat filter turned on.

The error was noticed by an eagle-eyed viewer. “Filter hata lo. Banda billi bana hua hai (Remove the filter, the man has been turned into a cat),” the viewer said.

While the filter was quickly turned off, the images still went viral.

In a statement, the Pakistani government said the cat filter was turned on because of a “human error” by a “hardworking volunteer” and said steps would be taken to avoid similar incidents in the future.
