Muggers choked a Bronx man nearly unconscious and hammered him with blows and kicks before running off, police said.

The brutes jumped the 49-year-old victim on Cambreleng Ave. near E. 188th St. in Belmont on Saturday about 5:30 a.m.

One of them grabbed the victim around the neck and pulled him down, while the other ran up and punched and kicked him.

After dishing out the beating, the men rifled through his pockets and snatched his cell phone.

They took off south on Cambreleng. Medics took the victim to a local hospital, where he was treated for a bruised and swollen face.

The second suspect is Hispanic, 18 to 25 years old. He had his hair in a ponytail and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweater, light colored pants and black sneakers.
