Oprah Winfrey will sit down with former Congressman Beto O’Rourke during a star-studded event next month in New York City.
The famed talk show host will interview the potential 2020 Democratic contender at the Playstation Theater on 44th St. as part of a special for her OWN network on Feb. 5, according to an announcement made on Friday.
O’Rourke, whose unsuccessful bid to unseat Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) drew national attention, will be joined by actors Bradley Cooper and Michael B. Jordan, Time’s Up President Lisa Borders and philanthropist Melinda Gates at the event dubbed “Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations from Times Square.”
Winfrey will interview each of the celebs one-on-one and will focus on “how each of the guests created an impact and shifted the conversation in their respective fields of entertainment, politics and culture in the last year,” according to the announcement.
O’Rourke has remained in the spotlight following his failed Senate race as speculation swirls about whether he’ll entered the soon-to-be crowded field of candidates seeking to unseat President Trump in 2020.
On Thursday, the social media savvy lawmaker live streamed a visit to his dentist and discussed border security. Other such live clips have featured the 46-year-old eating guacamole and chips while driving and building an igloo with his family.
