A North Carolina woman died over the weekend after police say she accidentally shot herself in the stomach.
Police responded to a Concord Ruby Tuesday Saturday, where Madison Moore, 28, had been shot with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen, officials said in a press release.
She was transported to Carolinas Medical Center Northeast Atrium Health where she died, police said.
Officials said they have opened an investigation into the shooting, but believe that the gun belonged to Moore.
Moore, a third-grade teacher at Knollwood Elementary School, is survived by her husband and daughter, according to her obituary.
