No, Joe Biden is NOT going to make America stop eating burgers and steak

President Biden has absolutely no plans to make you stop eating red meat or switch to Impossible Big Macs even if you did read about it on social media.

U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack Monday shot down a ridiculous right-wing conspiracy theory that claimed Biden’s ambitious plan to fight climate change includes an edict to force Americans to give up burgers and T-bones.

“There’s no desire, no effort, no press release, no policy paper — none of that — that would support the notion that the Biden administration is going to suggest that people eat less meat,” Vilsack told a group of reporters who cover agriculture. “Or that USDA has some program designed to reduce meat consumption.”

“It’s simply not the case,” added the former governor of Iowa, which boasts the tenth highest population of beef cows in the nation.

Despite being completely false, the bizarre claim that Biden wants to micromanage America’s barbecue spread far and wide in pro-Trump conservative circles over the weekend.

Donald Trump Jr. boasted that on Twitter that he ate at least four pounds of red meat in a single day.

“That’s going to be a hard NO from me,” the son of former President Trump wrote.

Far right-wing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) mocked Biden as The Hamburglar and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) warned the president to: “stay out of my kitchen.”

The wackadoo claim apparently stemmed from a news story in a British tabloid that surmised that meeting Biden’s goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 52% would require big cuts in agriculture, potentially including beef production.

The speculation ignores the fact that agriculture creates only an estimated 10% of emissions and scientists hope to reduce them with advancements in feeds and technology to capture methane.
