Josh Bailey had a goal and two assists, and Anthony Beauvillier scored twice to lead the Islanders past the Rangers in Bridgeport, Conn.
Anders Lee and Ryan Pulock also scored for the Islanders, who received a 21-save performance from Thomas Greiss.
Ryan Spooner and Cody McLeod scored for the Rangers. Alexandar Georgiev started in goal and made 10 saves on 13 shots, before being replaced by Dustin Tokarski, who allowed two goals on 11 shots.
The game was the first of the preseason for Rangers defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk, and his first since Jan. 18. Shattenkirk was limited to 46 games in his first season in New York due to a torn left meniscus.
DEVILS RE-SIGN WOOD
The Devils re- signed forward Miles Wood to a four-year, $11 million contract.
General manager Ray Shero announced the signing Saturday. Wood will earn $2.5 million annually in the first three years of the contract and $3.5 millon in 2021-22.
Wood, who scored a career-high 19 goals last season, will join the team for practice on Sunday. He also set new career highs with 76 games played, 13 assists, 32 points, 170 shots and three power play goals last season. His goal and shot totals placed him fourth on the squad.
