“Morning Joe” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski have tied the knot.
The TV personalities were married Saturday in the rotunda of the National Archives in Washington, D.C., marking the first time the library has ever hosted a wedding, according to Vanity Fair.
“It makes sense now more than ever, given what we stand for as a couple, what we do for a living, and what we’re worried about as a country,” Brzezinski told the outlet of their choice in venue.
The ceremony, which was officiated by Rep. Elijah Cummings, was reportedly kept shrouded in secrecy, with only about a dozen family members and close friends receiving invitations over the phone.
“We wanted it to be really small and simple and not what you expected from Mika and Joe,” Brzezinski said. “Everything we do is exposed, and everything felt exposed every step of the way, so we want this to be private until it’s over.”
The couple have co-hosted NBC News’ “Morning Joe” together since 2007, and were engaged in France in May 2017.
Brzezinski, 51, was previously married to journalist Jim Hoffer, with whom she shares two daughters. They split in 2016.
Scarborough, meanwhile, has two sons with first wife Melanie Hinton and a daughter and son with second wife Susan Waren. Scarborough, 55, and Waren divorced in 2013.
