Mets wouldn’t deal Noah Syndergaard for J.T. Realmuto straight up: report

December 17, 2018

The real deal was not J.T. Realmuto for Noah Syndergaard straight up.

According to a SNY report, the Mets were unwilling to deal the hard-throwing righty for the Marlins catcher in a one-for-one deal.

For several days there was talk of a three-team deal involving the Yankees that would send Syndergaard to Miami for Realmuto, with possibly Bombers third baseman Miguel Andujar leaving the Bronx for Queens. But that blockbuster could never be finalized.

The Mets, however, have moved on from Realmuto after agreeing with free-agent catcher Wilson Ramos to a two-year $19M deal Sunday.
