A high punishment for a low blow.
A California man who grabbed a federal officer’s testicles and bit his leg during a struggle was sent to prison for five and a half years Tuesday on assault and gun charges, the U.S. Department of Justice said.
Dustin Joseph Albini, 36, of West Sacramento, got into a nasty scuffle with a Bureau of Land Management agent who was trying to arrest him in July 2015 at “a marijuana grow operation” in Modoc County, authorities said.
The agent was executing a search warrant on the property, but the operation ended with both men on the ground as Albini went straight to the victim’s groin area and leg, according to a news release.
In a separate case later that year, authorities searched Albini’s vehicle and found a backpack containing marijuana and hundreds of vials of another THC substance as well as two handguns — a .45-caliber Colt Mark IV and a .40-caliber Glock 27. As part of a guilty plea in February, Albini admitted he intended to sell the vials and was carrying the weapons to protect and “further his drug distribution activities,” according to the release.
