A man was stabbed on the Smith-9th St. subway platform in Brooklyn while attempting to break up a fight Thursday afternoon.
Police said the incident occurred just before 4 p.m. after a fight broke out between two groups on a Manhattan-bound train. Their argument spilled onto the subway platform at the elevated station above the Gowanus Canal.
When a good Samaritan tried to intervene, he was stabbed in the arm.
The victim, who is in his 40s, was taken to New York Methodist Hospital where he is expected to survive.
No arrests were made following the incident.
