Man robbed at knifepoint of $1K in NYC subway station chases crooks, is robbed again

A man robbed of $1,000 at knifepoint in a Bronx subway station angrily chased after the crooks — only to have their accomplices rob him again, cops said Sunday.

The 25-year-old victim had just entered the 6 train stop at E. 149th St. in Hunts Point when a man and woman menaced him with a knife and demanded his backpack around 2:15 a.m. Saturday, police said.

After forking over the knapsack, which contained his wallet, three credit cards and $1,000 cash, the desperate victim followed the fleeing crooks.

That’s when three young men apparently in cahoots with the muggers jumped in and took the victim’s Samsung Galaxy phone, MetroCard, and headphones, authorities said. One of the men slugged the victim before the trio ran out of the station.

The victim declined medical attention.

Cops released surveillance photos of all five suspects Friday and asked the public’s help identifying them and tracking them down.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
