Man pushed to tracks in lower Manhattan subway station saved by fellow straphanger

A 55-year-old man was pushed to the subway tracks, but avoided certain death when a fellow straphanger grabbed him and dragged him on to the platform before a train sped into the station.

A 55-year-old man was pushed to the subway tracks, but avoided certain death when a fellow straphanger grabbed him and dragged him on to the platform before a train sped into the station.

The terrifying incident happened about 7:45 a.m. at the Brooklyn Bridge station on the 4, 5 and 6 lines.




The man suffered only a cut to his lip. Medics took him to NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital where he was treated and released.

Cops are now seeking the suspect. The victim could not identify his attacker.
