Man killed, woman wounded in Bronx shooting; surviving victim flags down passing cop

Struck

A man cornered on a Bronx street was shot dead and a younger woman with him was wounded, police said.

Robert Hill, 39, was first approached by the gunman’s accomplice around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday as he got out of a Toyota Corolla at E. 216th St. and Olinville Ave.

As Hill tried to flee, he ran into the gunman, who fired 12 shots with what police believe was a 9mm handgun, cops said.

Hill, of Mount Vernon, was struck numerous times in the upper body. One shot inadvertently hit the 27-year-old woman sitting in his car.

She managed to drive several blocks north, to E. 222nd St. and Bronx Blvd., and flagged down a passing patrol car, police said.

Both victims were taking to Montefiore Medical Center, where Hill was pronounced dead and the woman was in stable condition.

There have been no arrests.
