A Tacoma man is jailed on hate crime charges in Washington State after he allegedly attacked a lesbian couple at a Seahawks game.

Jay Dee Harp III, 34, was charged with second degree assault and malicious harassment after the drunk football fan allegedly grabbed one woman’s breast and punched the other in the face after maligning them for their sexual orientation, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported.

Bystanders stepped in to pull him off the married couple after he groped the first one, but he squirmed out of their grasp and punched the second woman in the face, giving her a nose bleed, a cut and a chipped tooth, according to the newspaper’s account. The fans hailed a state trooper, who had to taze the guy in order to subdue him.

The incident happened on Dec. 30 at CenturyLink Field. While he posted his initial $25,000 bail, a King County Superior Court judge raised it to $100,000 and had him rearrested, the Post-Intelligencer reported.
