Jamal Adams’ relentless pursuit of Le’Veon Bell paid off handsomely.
And the superstar running back certainly appreciated the love.
Bell made it clear that the Jets Pro Bowl safety’s efforts played a role in his final decision to sign a four-year deal with Gang Green.
“Jamal did his thing recruiting,” Bell said. “He was on my line constantly … texting me, tweeting me … Instagram … everything. He was doing everything he could to get me here. I respect everything from a guy with that talent. He’s so young. For him to reach out to me, it meant everything in the world to me … that somebody wanted me that much … a team wanted me that much. So, I’m glad to be here. He’s definitely a huge part. He made it happen. You got to give him a lot of credit. “
Adams said after a four-win season that the Jets needed more “dawgs” to take everyone where they needed to go. So, he embarked on a personal campaign to try to lure Bell. Adams routinely made pleas on various social media platforms to entice Bell to join him. He even had a casual lunch his agent and Bell’s agent at the Pro Bowl, where Bell’s name undoubtedly came up.
Adam’s efforts were rewarded.
