Laurie Metcalf and John Lithgow are hitting the Great White Way as Hillary and Bill Clinton.

The actors were announced Thursday as the stars of the upcoming play “Hillary and Clinton,” written by up-and-coming scribe Lucas Hnath.

The production is set in New Hampshire during the 2008 Democratic primaries, and will focus on the clashing points of view between Hillary, her husband and campaign manager Mark Penn as they fight to save her flailing bid for President.

Previews for the play, directed by Joe Mantello and produced by Scott Rudin, will begin in March, with an official opening scheduled for April 18 at a theater to be named later.

“Hillary and Clinton” will reunite Metcalf with both Mantello and Hnath; the former directed her in “Three Tall Woman,” while the latter penned “A Doll’s House, Part 2,” both of which earned Metcalf Tony Awards.

Lithgow, meanwhile, has two Tony wins under his belt.

Producer Rudin told The Hollywood Reporter that while “Hillary and Clinton” is a political play, it’ll take viewers by surprise.

“It treats the Clintons like Shakespeare treated real people in his history plays — it is both fundamentally truthful and also wildly imaginative,” he said. “It’s not in any way a docudrama or a work of nonfiction, but rather an exploration of power and how it works, not only in the canvas of a political campaign but inside an enduring marriage.”
