Kyler Murray, the two-sport star and Heisman Trophy winning Oklahoma quarterback, has elected to attend the NFL Combine in late February in Indianapolis.
Murray, an Oakland Athletics draft pick and MLB prospect, hadn’t previously committed to the NFL’s annual highlight showcase until the league announced the full list Thursday afternoon.
Vanderbilt QB Kyle Shurmur, the son of Giants coach Pat Shurmur, also will attend the combine and throw in front of his father, who is scouting quarterbacks to possibly draft to succeed Eli Manning.
Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins, the consensus top QB in the class, is the only one believed to be on the Giants’ radar at the No. 6 overall pick. Haskins also will be in Indy. Murray stands just 5-9 and is not believed to be on the Giants’ radar.
Kyle Shurmur had been scheduled to participate in the College Gridiron Showcase in Fort Worth, Texas, but he amicably backed out to rest up, no doubt to show his best in Indianapolis.
