By dint of another trade, the Knicks will need to find another way to abandon the disgruntled Enes Kanter.
Chicago has agreed to ship Jabari Parker and Bobby Portis to the Wizards for Otto Porter Jr., according to multiple reports Wednesday.
As the Daily News’ Stefan Bondy first reported, the Knicks and Bulls had explored a possible swap featuring Kanter and Parker, with a third team swooping in to take on the one year left on the Turkish forward’s $18.6 million salary.
That of course never materialized, as the time is ticking on the Knicks to unload Kanter before Thursday’s trade deadline. A buyout, as The Daily News reported, also remains a likely option if they’re unable to find a trade partner.
SHUMPERT TO ROCKETS
Sacramento and Cleveland are finishing a trade that will most notably send former Knick Iman Shumpert from the Kings to the Rockets.
Houston is sending Brandon Knight and Marquese Chriss to the Cavaliers. Alec Burks — now traded for the second time this season, after starting the year in Utah — will go from the Cavaliers to the Kings.
In a separate transaction, the Cavs will send Nik Stauskas and Wade Baldwin, both acquired from Portland earlier in the week in the deal that sent Rodney Hood to the Trail Blazers, to Houston. It remains unclear how they figure into the Rockets’ plans.
