Mrs. Keith Richards is going to the dogs — in a tail-wagging good way.
A picture of Patti Hansen, 62, the Rolling Stones rocker’s wife for nearly 35 years, is on the block at an auction to benefit the Humane Society of New York and the Aperture Foundation, a nonprofit that supports the photo community.
Acclaimed New York photographer Arthur Elgort (yes, actor Ansel’s father) remembers taking that photo of Hansen for Vogue like it was yesterday.
“It’s a timeless picture. You can’t tell the date by looking at it,” Elgort, 77, honorary chairman of the event on Wednesday evening at Aperture Gallery in Chelsea, told the Daily News.
Hansen, a girl from Staten Island who’s been called the “face of cool,” wears a white Calvin Klein swimsuit and her signature radiance in Elgort’s pic.
She sports the same look on the cover of the upcoming book “Patti Hansen: A Portrait,” due out in October.
“I could have just taken that picture. But I didn’t,” he added. “But Patti’s still looking good. Some people don’t change. Some people change a lot.”
Nearly 200 works by photographers including Milton H. Greene and Mary Ellen Mark and William Wegman will be up for bid. Rescue pooches will also be part of the pack.
