Authorities confirmed the body was human remains, and an autopsy will determine a cause of death, an NYPD spokesman said.

Sources said police learned about the body after an informant walked into the 123rd Precinct stationhouse in Tottenville and led them to the exact spot where the corpse was buried about six months earlier.

Police have not released the victim’s name or more information about the investigation.
