Hail of late-night Bronx gunfire leaves man hit in head, killed

A 22-year-old man shot in the head and chest during a quarrel outside a Bronx housing project died early Saturday, police said.

Cheyenne Carter was gunned down outside the Patterson Houses on Morris Ave. near E. 142nd St. in Mott Haven minutes after midnight, according to authorities.

Medics rushed the mortally wounded victim to Lincoln Hospital, but he could not be saved.

Two men, one wearing a gray shirt, dashed east on E. 143rd after the shooting, cops said.

Carter has 22 prior arrests, including a September 2017 charge for robbery, assault and possession of stolen property, sources said.

There were no immediate arrests.
