Giants in contact with reps for Patriots WR Chris Hogan; Vikings RT Mike Remmers visiting Big Blue

March 14, 2019

The post-Odell Beckham Jr. era is proceeding with the Giants showing interest at wide receiver and right tackle to upgrade their depleted offense.

The Giants have been in contact with the representatives for Patriots free agent wide receiver Chris Hogan, 31, a two-time Super Bowl champion, according to a league source.

Hogan, of Ramapo (N.J.) High School and Monmouth University, lives in Long Island, where his wife is a doctor and the couple has two young twins. So playing in New York would be a welcome change for him and his family.

Hogan’s routine as a Patriot included driving home from Foxborough to Long Island after New England home games.

Meanwhile, ex-Vikings right tackle Mike Remmers, who turns 30 in April, is visiting the Giants on Thursday, per his agent Brett Tessler on Twitter.

Remmers has interest from several teams, but he would be a good fit with the Giants. He played for Pat Shurmur as Minnesota’s OC and under Dave Gettleman and OC Mike Shula in Carolina.

Remmers is versatile and has played guard, as well, but he played tackle for Shurmur in the Vikes’ strong 2017 season that culminated in a run to the NFC Championship Game.

And right tackle is the lone remaining unfilled starting position on the Giants’ offensive line.
