A 20-year-old Missouri man was killed in a freak accident at a Jack in the Box drive-thru.

Charles Wood Jr. had stopped at an angle at the drive-thru window of the fast rood chain in St. Louis Wednesday when he accidentally put his car in reverse and accelerated backward into a tree, police said.

Wood appeared to have opened his door and leaned out of the car to reach his food when he hit the accelerator.

He sustained fatal injuries to his head, neck, torso and legs after getting pinned between his car and the tree.

The investigation into Wood’s death is ongoing.

Earlier this year, a 74-year-old man was killed by his own vehicle at a Dairy Queen drive-thru.

The man, Curtis Shantz, jumped out of his car to fix a mechanical issue when the vehicle rolled over him.
