“Fox & Friends” host Ainsley Earhardt and her husband of six years are calling it quits.
Will Proctor filed for divorce from the longtime Fox News broadcaster on Wednesday in Manhattan Supreme Court, and later blamed the “Fox Public Relations Machine” for bringing attention to the matter.
Neither party has provided a reason for the split, but sources close to Earhardt claim Procter was unfaithful to his wife with one of her close friends several years ago.
Proctor denies those rumors.
“There is not one ounce of truth to the allegations that I had an affair,” Proctor said in a statement through his lawyer.
“I am devastated about this situation, and did not envision this for the future of our family,” he said.
Earhardt, 42, and Proctor, 34, have a 2-year-old daughter together named Hayden. Proctor’s divorce filing Wednesday comes shortly after Earhardt confirmed they had split.
“After much prayer and careful consideration, Will and I have separated,” she said in a statement through a Fox Rep.
“I am grateful to FOX for their support and allowing me to spend all day, everyday (sic) after the morning show with my child,” Earhardt continued. “I am fully committed to parenting and doing what is always best for my darling, little girl and would appreciate privacy and prayers during this difficult time.”
Proctor, meanwhile, expressed disappointment that their breakup had drawn public interest.
“I remain focused on and committed to being the best Dad, and maintaining a friendship with my wife even though she has decided to move on, and The Fox Public Relations Machine has decided to go public,” Proctor says in his statement.
“This morning I filed an action for divorce,” he continued. “This is a very personal matter, and for the sake of our young daughter, I ask that the media respect the privacy of our family.”
The split comes about a year after another the wife of another Fox News host, Jesse Watters, filed for divorce after he allegedly cheated on her with a 25-year-old producer.
