Four “extremely dangerous” inmates escaped from a county jail in Ohio early Sunday when they overpowered two corrections officers, according to authorities.
Brynn Martin, Christopher Clemente, Troy McDaniel Jr. and Lawrence Lee III used a homemade weapon against the officers — and had help from one person on the outside — when they bolted from the Gallia County Jail at about 12:15 a.m.
The sheriff’s office said in a statement that the inmates were able to make their escape after forcing open a secured door.
Martin, at 40, is the oldest of the group. It was not immediately known if the officers, both women, were injured.
More details were expected to be released during a press conference on Sunday.
Anyone with information about the escaped inmates should contact the authorities or call 911.
