Florida teacher reassigned during investigation after quiz calls Trump ‘idiot,’ school district says

A blunt description of President Trump on a multiple choice quiz ticked off a parent and put a middle school teacher in South Florida in hot water.

The question described Trump as “Republican; Real Estate businessman; Idiot," according to a screenshot tweeted Tuesday by Cameron Cary, a self-described conservative who objected to the assessment.

Cary, who said the teacher did not write the Quizlet set, charged the school with “Indoctrination.”

The Watson B. Duncan Middle School teacher who distributed the quiz has been reassigned pending an investigation by the Palm Beach County School District, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Phillip D’Amico, the principal at the school in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., came down hard on the quiz.

“The question was inappropriate, and demonstrated an unacceptable lack of good judgment on the part of the teacher,” D’Amico said in an apology letter to parents, according to the Sun Sentinel. “I apologize for this incident, and for the offensive verbiage used in the question.”

President Obama received a more flattering description in the quiz, which listed accomplishments including his Nobel Prize and the stabilization of the economy during his presidency, according to a picture tweeted by Cary.
