Flash flood watch in effect in New York City

New York City is on alert for flash flooding in anticipation of heavy rain in the region Monday

Up to an inch and a half of rain could fall, making the commute home a wet slog, with the heaviest rain expected to fall in the afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service.

The flash flood watch will be in effect until 1 a.m., according to the mayor’s office.
