Texas authorities responded to a residential neighborhood Monday morning and discovered five people dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
Polk County Sheriff Kenneth Hammack said his office received a call around 10:30 a.m. local time about “victims of assault.”
Texas Highway Patrol troopers, as well as sheriff’s deputies, arrived at the scene to find the five dead.
The youngest of the victims was a 15-month old girl. Her parents, Ashley Delaney, 27, and Randy Horn, 54, were also killed, along with Ashley’s parents, 74-year-old Carlos Delaney and 72-year-old Linda Delaney, according to KHOU.
One of the victims’ mother, who was unharmed in a locked back bedroom, called authorities.
