The desperate fiancee of missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi is begging President Trump and the First Lady for help in finding her husband.

In a heartbreaking open letter, Hatice Cengzi pleads with the Trumps to intervene in the disappearance of the renowned newsman in Saudi Arabia.

“Jamal did not think the Saudis could force him to stay at the consulate in Turkey, even if they wanted to arrest him,” wrote Cengzi. “In other words, he did not mind walking into the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul because he did not believe that something bad could happen on Turkish soil. It would be a violation of international law to harm, arrest or detain people at a diplomatic mission, he said, and noted that no such thing had ever happened in Turkey’s history.”

The Washington Post reported earlier that a squad of Saudis played a role in his Oct. 2 disappearance outside the consulate.

Turkish officials believe the prominent critic of the Saudi government was assassinated inside the building.

“At this time I implore President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump to shed light on Jamal’s disappearance,” wrote Cengzi. “I also urge Saudi Arabia, especially King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to show the same level of sensitivity and CCTV footage from the consulate.”

The day Khashoggi went missing, security camera footage was taken from the Saudi consulate and Turkish staffers were sent home for the day.

On Tuesday, a still-frame image of the journalist emerged, showing Khashoggi walking toward the consulate.
