“We’ve got to keep working at it. It’s been different situations, different guys, different things,” coach John Hynes said. “When you look at it, there’s not one particular trend. We’ll continue to work at it. You’ve got to be able to find a way to get two points out of it.”
Hoffman hit the post at 1:03 of overtime but came back 25 seconds later with a shot from the right circle that beat Kinkaid. Hoffman has 23 points in his last 20 games.
Bratt gave the Devils a 3-2 lead when he tipped in a shot by Vatanen with 8:33 remaining in the third. The goal was Bratt’s second in two games.
With the Panthers’ net empty, Huberdeau grabbed a loose puck in front and pushed it past Kinkaid for his 100th NHL goal.
