Courteney Cox was shaken up enough during a recent emergency landing that she reached out to loved ones mid-scare.
The actress was flying in a private jet with her former “Friends” costar Jennifer Aniston to Cabo, Mexico for the latter’s 50th birthday when trouble hit.
“I’m not afraid of flying at all… my dad was a pilot,” Cox told Extra. “But I was really scared, because when we were taking off, we heard this really loud bang and I was like, ‘Oh, that sounds like we should probably check that tire.’
“There was no tire at all, there was no wheel,” she adds. “Luckily, there are two wheels on each side and two in the front. I have to say, we were in the air for four hours, burning off fuel and just thought of what it is going to be like when we land… it was a really smooth landing.”
But during the drama, the first people Cox thought of were her 14-year-old daughter Coco, who she shares with ex-husband David Arquette, and her boyfriend, Irish musician John McDaid.
“I sent a little text to Coco, ‘I love you,’ I didn’t say why, and to Johnny… I told him everything that was going on and I FaceTimed him after,” Cox told Extra.
The flight reportedly took off from Los Angeles International Airport on Feb. 15 and had to make an emergency landing at Ontario International Airport in Southern California after losing a wheel or tire.
